Box Score WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State University Rams had a 11 game win streak snapped tonight, as the #17 Catawba Indians shut down the Rams, 2-0, tonight at BB&T Ballpark.
With the loss, WSSU falls to 16-12 overall and Catawba improves to 23-9 on the season.
The Catawba Indians scored twice in the third inning, two unearned runs, and the WSSU Rams would not get any runners to threaten in the game, as the Rams fell 2-0 to Catawba.
Willie McCrae led the Rams going 2 for 3 , while Ivan Acuna went 1 for 3. Randy Norris and Emilio Abreu was 1 for 4 on the night.
Seth Reeves took the loss for WSSU, pitching 2.1 innings, allowing two hits and two runs while walking two and striking out 1. Kanao Hironaka come out of the pen to pitch 4.2 innings, striking out two and Landon Steiner finished the outing throwing the final 2.0 innings, allowing one hit while walking two and striking out five.
WSSU will host Virginia State in a four game weekend series at Finch Field in Thomasville, NC on Saturday and Sunday. Gametimes are set to 1: and 3:45 pm each day.
