Rams Football Victorious over St. Augustine’s Saturday Afternoon

Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University football team scored the most points thus far this season defeating St. Augustine's 41-14 Saturday afternoon inside the George Williams Athletic Complex.
 
The Rams improve to (2-5, 2-4 CIAA), while SAU moves to (1-7, 1-5 CIAA).
 
How it Happened
  • JahTwan Stafford had a 15-yard run to score and the extra point was good to give the Rams a 7-0 score with 9:52 left in the first quarter.
  • JahTwan Stafford had another 14-yard run to score but the two-point conversion was no good. The Rams led 13-0 with 10:54 left in the first half.
  • SAU blocked a Rams' field goal and ran it back for a touchdown to cut into the Rams' lead with 13.7 seconds remaining in the first half. The Rams went into halftime leading 13-0.
  • SAU cut into the Rams lead on a pass to Jaylen Siermons with 3:15 left to go in the third quarter, the extra point was good. WSSU 20, SAU 14.
  • Narique Smith had an interception from the 40-yard line and ran it back to the one-yard line with 12:38 to go in the fourth quarter.
  • Nicholas "Bryce" Jackson ran for a two-yard run and with the extra point, the Rams took a 27-14 lead with 11:47 left to play in the game.
  • Deiontae Jones had another interception for the Rams which later resulted in a Nicholas "Bryce" Jackson throwing a 72-yard pass to RJ Mobley, and with the extra point, WSSU led 34-14 with 5:48 left to play.
  • With 2:54 remaining in the game, Nicholas "Bryce" Jackson had a 34-yard pass to Kemai Parker and the extra point gave the Rams a 41-14 victory.
