WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University football team ended its regular season falling 14-6 to Fayetteville State on Saturday, November 5th inside Bowman Gray Stadium.
The Rams finished the season (3-6, 3-4 CIAA), while the Broncos improved to 8-2 on the year and 7-1 in the conference. They also are the Southern Division Champions and will play in the CIAA Championship game on Saturday, November 12 in Salem, Virginia at 1 p.m.
The Rams scored first on a one-yard run from JahTwan Strafford to give the Rams a 6-0 lead with 11:28 left to play in the first quarter.
It was all FSU after, scoring twice in the second quarter to claim the 14-6 victory.
Inside the Numbers
Fayetteville State held the Rams' offensive to only 157 yards and under 100 yards on the ground and through the air. WSSU only had 87 passing yards and 70 rushing yards.
