WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University men's basketball team will begin Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA®) play Thursday night hosting Lincoln University (Pa.) inside the C.E. Gaines Center at 5:30 p.m.

Series:
Dating back to 2011 the Rams lead the series 7-6. The Rams fell to the Lions 63-60 at Lincoln University, Pennsylvania.
Javonte Cooke led all scorers with 22 points followed by
Cameron Campbell with 16.
Jonathan Hicklin finished with nine points.
Last Time Out:
The Rams defeated Clark Atlanta 86-59 for their 20th-straight home win inside the C.E. Gaines Center last Saturday, December 10th.

CIAA Preseason:
Jonathan Hicklin and
Isaac Parson were named to the All-CIAA preseason team Backcourt and
Nathan Springs was named to the All-CIAA Frontcourt team. Overall, the Rams were selected to finish third in the season and second in the Southern Division.
CIAA Weekly Awards:
For week five,
Jaylon Gibson was named the CIAA Player of the Week after scoring 25 points in the victory over Clark Atlanta. He also had 11 rebounds and shot 9-of-14 from the field.
CIAA Top-Ten Stats
- The Rams are sixth in the league in offense, averaging 75.9 points a game.
- They are ranked first in defense, only allowing 60.3 points a game.
- Jaylon Gibson is ranked fifth in scoring, averaging 14.8 points a game. He is also fourth in rebounding (7.9) per game. He's first in field goal percentage (.654). 10th in free throw percentage (.735).
- Jaylen Alston is ranked third in rebounding (8.0).
- Samage Teel is eighth in free throw percentage (.774)
- Isaac Parson is eighth in three-point field goals per game (1.9).
Atlantic Region Poll
For the fifth week in a row, the Winston-Salem State University men's basketball team is ranked in the D2SIDA Division II poll.
The men's basketball team moved up a spot to #6 after defeating Clark Atlanta 86-59.
Scouting Report
The Lions are 5-6 (0-0 CIAA) in the season. They played Wilmington University on December 12th and fell 66-65. Korey Williams led all scorers with 17 points, followed by Peter Sorber who had 16 points and 12 rebounds.
