WINSTON-SALEM, N.C- Every Ram scored as the Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team dominated Morris College 109-31 Saturday afternoon inside the C.E. Gaines Center.
The Rams moved to 4-2 on the season.
Taniah Wilkins led the Rams with 19 points, eight rebounds, two steals, and one block.
Kennedi Simmons finished with 17 points.
Valencia Carroll had a season-high 16 points.
Hadiya Balser and
Prophet Sheffield both finished in double figures as well, scoring 12 and 11, respectively.
Both teams began with a turnover before the Rams went on a 9-0 scoring run. With 6:14 seconds left in the first quarter,
Kendra Ross hit a three to put the Rams up 12-2. WSSU finished the quarter up 26, (31-5).
It was no stopping the Rams as they went into the half up 45, 55-10. With 8:19 left to play in the third quarter, the Rams led 63-10. They finished the quarter leading by 60, 79-19.
The Hornets scored 12 more points, but the Rams'
Makayla Smith put the dagger in Morris College hitting the final three to win the game 109-31.
The Rams are back in action on Monday, December 5th at UVA-Wise. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
