SUMTER S.C.- The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team defeated Morris College 83-48 inside Morris Gymnasium.
The Rams improved to (5-3, 0-0 CIAA).
Amaya Tucker led the Rams with 21 points, six assists, and eight steals, while
Kennedi Simmons scored 13 points.
Tolisha Walker recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Both
Sierra Hunter and
Christiana McLean chipped in with 10 points.

The Rams went 31-of-61 from the field, and 19-of-28 from the free-throw line. The Rams grabbed 40 rebounds, 19 steals, 40 points in the paint, 38 points off turnovers, and 30 bench points.
In the first quarter,
Christiana McLean gave the Rams their first lead of the game on a lay-up, 10-8 with 5:08 left. The Yellow Jackets finished the quarter on a 10-2 run taking an 18-13 after the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Rams started on an 8-0 run highlighted by an
Amaya Tucker three-pointer and a lay-up by
Tolisha Walker giving the Rams a 21-20 with 8:23 left. The Rams closed out the quarter on a 5-0 run highlighted by a
Sierra Hunter jumper giving the Rams a 36-32.
In the second half, the Rams outscored the Yellow Jackets 47-16.
