WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team will continue divisional play hosting Shaw University, on Wednesday, January 18th. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside the C.E. Gaines Center.
The Lady Rams will then travel to Fayetteville, North Carolina to take on Fayetteville State University, on Saturday, January 27th. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. inside Felton J. Capel Arena.

CIAA Preseason:
Amaya Tucker and
Kennedi Simmons were named to the 2022-2023 All-CIAA Women's Basketball Preseason Team Backcourt. Tucker is returning as the reigning CIAA Player of the Year. She finished last season averaging 15.6 points per game and led the Rams in three-point percentage with 40%. Tucker also shot 74% from the free-throw line. Simmons was second on the Rams in scoring, averaging 9.1 points per game. Kennedi shot 72% from the free-throw line.
CIAA Weekly Awards
- Jakaiya Mack was named CIAA Player of the Week for week seven.
- La'Niya Simes was named CIAA Rookie of the Week for weeks 10 and 11.

Fayetteville State University (14-2, 7-1 CIAA)
The Broncos fell to Johnson C. Smith 63-53 on Saturday, January 20th. Aniylah Bryant led the Broncos with 15 points, followed by Talia Trotter with 11 points. Aniylah Bryant is the Broncos leading scorer averaging 16.4 points a game, followed by Talia Trotter with 9.4 points per game.
The Broncos are averaging 68.9 points per game.
