Fayetteville, N.C.– The Winston-Salem State University men's basketball team comeback falls short to Fayetteville State 61-58 inside Felton J. Capel Arena.
The Rams moved to (13-5, 7-3 CIAA).
Jaylen Alston led the Rams with 24 points and scored his 1,000 career points in the first half of the game.
Isaac Parson also scored 14 points with five rebounds.

The Rams went 24- of-43 from the field, 8-of -17 from the free-throw line, and 2-of–9i from three. They scored 32 points in the paint, 11 points off turnovers, and grabbed 31 rebounds with 26 being defensive rebounds.
In the first half, with the score 18-10 Broncos with 12:30 left, the Rams went on a 10-0 run 20-18 take their first lead of the game. The highlight of the run was a
Jaylen Alston turnaround jumper, with 10:14 left putting the Rams up two points. The Broncos outscored the Rams 19-10 for the remaining of the half, giving the Broncos a 37-30 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Rams started the half on a 10-4 run as a
Jaylen Alston lay-up cut the Broncos' lead to one point 41-40 with 14:46 remaining. With the Broncos up 48-42, the Rams went on a 6-0 run trying the game 48-48 with 9:13 left, on a
Jeremy Dixon lay-up. The Broncos took the lead back 50-48 with 8:51 remaining.
Jeremy Dixon answered back with a three-pointer putting the Rams back in front 51-50 with 8:20 left.
Jaylen Alston extended the Rams lead to five points with a free-throw 55-50 with 5:34 remaining in the game. The Broncos went on a 5-0 run tying the game at 55-55 with 3:33 remaining.
Isaac Parson answered back with a step-back jumper 57-55 with 3:10 left. The Broncos went on a 6-0 run and were up 61-57 with 22 seconds left.
Jaylen Alston connected on one free-throw with 16 seconds left making the score 61-58. As the Broncos missed the free-throw attempt the Rams had one more chance to tie the game. As
Isaac Parson rushed down the court shooting a long three-pointer, but it hit the front of the rim.
