WINSTON-SALEM-N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University football team takes down Shaw University at the William "Bill" Hayes field at the Bowman Gray Stadium Saturday afternoon.
The Rams improved to 5-2 (3-1 CIAA) on the season.

How it Happened
- With 12 plays and 95 yards, Daylin Lee scored on a one-yard run for the Rams, and with the extra touchdown the Rams lead 7-0 over Shaw with 8:34 left to play in the first quarter.
- Shaw scored six, but the Rams, Narique Smith blocked the extra point. The Rams 7 – Shaw, 6 with 5:06 left to play in the half.
- Lee had a complete pass to Christian MacDonald for 16 yards to give the Rams a 13-6 lead going into halftime.
- Lee had another pass complete to Jayden Grimes for 8 yards and the extra point was good and the Rams led 20-6 with 7:52 left to play in the third quarter.
- Lee's second rush of the game, this time for 13 yards, and the extra point were good, giving the Rams a 27-6 lead with 14 seconds remaining in the third quarter!
- Justin Fleming had his seventh career interception with 11:06 left to play in the game. This play later turned into a 70-yard rush from Trevon Hester for a touchdown. Rams led 33-6 with 10:21 to play.
- Shaw added 7 more points with 7:58 left in the game but the Rams already sealed the deal with the 34-14 final.
WSSU will be back in action on Saturday, October 19 facing Livingstone College at 4 p.m.
