Rams Football Dominate Livingstone College Saturday Afternoon

SALISBURY, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University football team dominated against Livingstone College inside Alumni Memorial Stadium defeating the Blue Bears 31-17 on Saturday evening.

The Rams improved to 6-2 (4-1 CIAA) on the season.

  • The Rams had 16 first downs, 129 rushing yards and 182 passing yards.
  • Daylin Lee was 10-for-26 for 182 yards and one touchdown.
  • Trevon Hester rushed for 97 yards on 21 attempts with one touchdown.
  • Defensively, Camar Kyle had eight tackles (3 solo) with five assists and 2.0 tackles for loss for nine yards. Kyle also had two quarterback hurries.
How It Happened
  • The Rams got on the board first with a one-yard run from Trevon Hester, the extra point was good and the Rams led 7-0 with 11:19 to play in the first quarter.
  • Livingstone answered back with a 10-yard pass to Davontay Deloatch to tie the game at 7-all.
  • Gilberto Lorenzana hit a 36-yard field goal to give the Rams a 10-7 lead in the second quarter.
  • With 1:52 left in the half, Kaleb Washington caught a 35-yard pass from Lee to give the Rams a 17-7 lead.
  • LC's kicker added three to the scoreboard with 7:20 remaining in the third, Rams still led 17-7.
  • Dante Bowlding came up huge on defense, as Jasahn Rankin tipped Livingstone's pass right to Bowlding for an 18-yard interception touchdown to give the Rams a 24-10 lead with 3:17 left to play in the quarter.
  • Daylin Lee scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak; the extra point was good, giving the Rams the 31-10 lead.
  • Livingstone scored one more touchdown but the Rams already sealed the deal.
