ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The Winston-Salem State University volleyball team defeated Claflin University 3-1 Wednesday Night, inside Tullis Arena.
The Rams moved to 8-8 (5-3 CIAA) on the season.

In set two, the Rams came out on a 6-1 run. The Panthers answered back with a 3-0 run, making the score 6-4. The Rams answered back with a 5-0 run, taking an 11-4 lead. The Rams extended their lead to 19-8 with a Claflin attack error. The Rams closed out the set with a 6-2 run, taking set two 25-13 and leading the match 2-0.

Zoe Chesson kill. The Panthers kept fighting, tying the game at 17-17. Claflin took a 21-19 lead and eventually took the set 25-23 and trailed the match 2-1.
In set four, with the score tied 2-2, the Rams went on a 3-0 run taking a 5-2 lead. The Rams went on an 8-2 run taking an 18-11 lead. With the score 19-12, the Rams went on a 4-0 run taking a 23-12 lead on a Claflin error. The Rams took set four 25-15 and won the match 3-1.
