WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.– The Winston-Salem State University men's basketball team stumble against Lander University falling 78-66 inside the C.E. Gaines Center.
The Rams moved to ( 0-4, 0-0 CIAA) on the season.
Micah Jones led the Rams with 17 points,
Tyre Boykin scored nine points, followed by Welsey Tubbs III chipped in with seven points.

The Rams went 25- of- 57 from the field, 6-of-8 from the free-throw line, and 10-of–28 from three. They scored 20 points in the paint, grabbed 28 rebounds, 11 turnovers, and 26 bench points.
How it Happened
In the first half,
Jeremy Dixon got the Rams on the board with a three-pointer, giving the Rams a 3-0 lead with 19:36 left. The Bearcats took their first lead of the game 7-5 with 16:33 remaining.
Wesley Tubbs III answered back with a jumper, tying the game at 7-7 with 16:10 on the clock. The Bearcats went on a 5-0 run, making the score 15-9 with 13:06 left. The Rams cut the score to 15-13, on a
Micah Jones jumper (12:20). Lander went on a 5-0 run, extending their lead to 27-18 with 8:22 left in the half. The Rams went on a 6-2 run, cutting the score to 29-24 on a
Lorenzo Caldwell three-pointer with (6:08). Lander took a 40-33 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Bearcats went on a 7-0 run, taking a 48-33 lead with 18:34 left to play. The Bearcats went on a 9-0 run, giving them a 57-35 lead with (13:50). With the score 60-40 Lander,
Tyre Boykin went on his own 5-0 run, cutting the score to 60-45 with 10:40 remaining in the game Lander pushed their lead to 68-49 on a three-pointer with 7:45 remaining. A
Micah Jones three-pointer cut the score to 70-55 with 5:57 left to play. The Rams went on a 6-0 run, cutting the lead to 74-61 on two Welsey Tubbs, III free-throws with 2:44 remaining in the game. A
