WINSTON-SALEM, N.C- The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team begins its regular season at the Jim Crawley Conference Challenge in Frostburg Maryland, hosted by Frostburg State.
The Rams will take on Frostburg State University on Friday, November 8th, tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Then, on Saturday, November 9th WSSU will face off with West Virginia Wesleyan College. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. All games will be played inside Bobcat Arena.

CIAA Preseason/Polls
Jakaiya Mack was named to the 2024-2025 All-CIAA Women's Basketball Preseason Team Frontcourt. Mack finished last season playing in 15 games and started in 12. She averaged 23 minutes with 8 points per game, 45% FG, and 57% FT. The women were selected to finish tenth.
Last Time Out
The Rams fell to Elon University 76-46 in an exhibition on November 1st.
Scouting Report
Last season Frostburg State University finished (18-11, 14-6 MEC). Frostburg is returning 10 players from last season Sa'Niyah Council, Emilee Weakley, Riley Nelson, Grace Middleton, Jenna Muha, Jasmine Johnson, Oliva Looker, Alanna Tate, Mandy Roman, and Harley Herndon. The Bobcats are returning their leading scorer Emilee Weakley who averaged 25.2 points a game. Weakley scored her season high twice, 40 points against Charleston (WV) on November 29th, 2023, and also against Glenville State on December 9th, 2023. The Bobcats averaged 78.6 a game last year.
Scouting Report
Last year West Virginia Wesleyan College finished (10-17, 6-14 MEC). The Bobcats are returning eight players from last season Shelby Genes, Caitlyn Sullivan, Abby McDonough, Sydney Baird, Charlotte Sherrill , Kenley Kveton, Emma Witt, Samiah Lynch and Desiree Roy, Daveona Hatchell, Maile Hurt. The Bobcats are returning their leading scorer Emma Witt who averaged 14.8 points a game. Adams scored her season-high 25 points against Fairmont State on March 7th, 2024. The Bobcats averaged 66.9 a game last year.
