Women’s Basketball Continues Homestand Hosting Bowie State University Tuesday, Lincoln (Pa.) Thursday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team will continue their homestand on Tuesday, December 17th hosting Bowie State University, tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside the C.E. Gaines Center. 

The Lady Rams will then welcome in Lincoln University (Pa.) on Thursday, December 19th, tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside the C.E. Gaines Center.

Series Information vs. Bowie State University 
Since 2005, the Bulldogs lead the series 11-7. Last time, the Rams defeated the Bulldogs 64-61 on February 24th, 2024, during the CIAA Basketball tournament. 

Series Information vs. Lincoln (Pa.) University 

Since 2011, the series has been tied 10-10. The Rams fell to the Lions 58-53 on December 16th, 2023. 

Rams Returners:
The Rams brought back six returners from last year's team. Sophomores La'Niya Simes, juniors Alexandria Warren, Jakaiya Mack, Chloe Williams, senior Christiana McLean, and graduate student Sierra Hunter.

Rams Newcomers:
During the off-season, the Rams welcomed in freshman Alana Biosse, sophomores Khauri Little, Karina Scott, Zion Duncan, junior Kierran Walker, and graduate students Jaleesa Lanier and Maya-Madison Walker.

CIAA Preseason/Polls
Jakaiya Mack was named to the 2024-2025 All-CIAA Women's Basketball Preseason Team Frontcourt. Mack finished last season playing in 15 games and started in 12. She averaged 23 minutes with 8 points per game, 45% FG, and 57% FT. The women were selected to finish tenth. 

Last Time Out
The Rams fell to Virginia Union University 70-53 on Thursday, December 12th. La'Niya Simes led the Rams with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Karina Scott with seven points. 

Scouting Report 
The Rams' leading scorer is Christiana McLean averaging 12.0 points a game, followed by La'Niya Simes with 9.3 points. The Rams are averaging 60.0 points a game. 

Bowie State University (8-2, 2-0 CIAA) 
The Bulldogs defeated Wilmington University (Del.) 102-67 on Monday, December 9th. The Bulldogs are led in scoring by Destiny Ryles with 19.5 points followed by Mia Smith with 13.5 points. Bowie State is averaging 70.3 points per game. 

Lincoln University (Pa.) (4-7, 1-7 CIAA) 
The Lions defeated Johnson C. Smith University 57-47 on Monday, December 19th. The Lions were led in scoring by Anyssa Fields with 14 points followed by Ciani Montgomery with 10 points. As of December, 16th Lincoln (Pa.) is averaging 66.0 points per game.

The women will conclude their homestand on Saturday, December 21st. The Lady Rams will host UNC Pembroke tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside C.E. Gaines Center. As a reminder all December home games will be free entry with a canned good.
