Shaw Has a Career Night as Men’s Basketball Dominates Shaw University Thursday Night

RALEIGH, NC– The Winston-Salem State University men's basketball team exploded in the second half overpowering Shaw University 85-69 inside C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium.
 
 The Rams improved to (18-8, 12-5 CIAA).
 
Ketron "KC" Shaw led the Rams with a career-high 21 points. Isaac Parson scored  17 points with six rebounds and six assists, followed by Jaylen Alston with 13 points with nine rebounds. Jahnarious Snell chipped in with 10 points. 
 
Quick Inside the Numbers
The Rams went 32- of-65 from the field, 14-of-17 from the free-throw line, and 7-of–21 from three. They scored 42 points in the paint, 18 second-chance points, grabbed 41 rebounds, scored 18 points off turnovers, and 37 bench points.
 
In the first half, Ketron "KC" Shaw got the Rams on the board 2-0 on a lay-up with 19:37 left. With the score tied 12-12, Jahnarious Snell drained a three-pointer giving the Rams a 15-12 lead with 13:12 remaining. Snell extended the Rams lead to seven points on a lay-up, 23-16 with 6:58 left. Isaac Parson made the score 29-23 on a lay-up with 3:23 remaining. With the game tied up 32-32, Jahnarious Snell connected on a three-pointer giving the Rams a 35-32 lead with seven seconds remaining. The Rams took a 35-32 lead into halftime. 
 
In the second half, Ketron "KC" Shaw gave the Rams a five-point lead on a lay-up, 41-36 with 16:07 remaining. The Rams went on a 7-0 run extending the lead to 48-39 with 13:06 left. The run was highlighted by an Imajae Dodd lay-up, which made the score 47-39 with 14:21 left. The Bears cut the lead down to six points 52-46 with 9:33 left. The Rams answered back with an 11-0 run, highlighted by two made free-throws by Isaac Parson making the score 63-46 with 7:08 remaining. Jaylen Alston extended the Rams to 19 points 67-48 on a lay-up with 5:33 remaining. The Bears cut the lead to 13 points 69-56 with 3:50 remaining. The Rams went on a 5-0 run highlighted by a Jaylen Alston monster dunk 74-56 with 2:39 remaining. 
 
 Up Next
The Rams will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, February 24th, heading to Salisbury, North Carolina. The Rams will take on Livingstone College, tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. inside New Trent Gymnasium.
