BALTIMORE, M.D. - The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team fell short to Johnson C. Smith University 65-59 Tuesday night, inside CFG Bank Arena.
The Rams finished the season with a 9-21, 2–16 CIAA record..
Jakiaya Mack led the Rams with 12 points., while Amaya Tucker scored 11 points and Kennedi Simmons chipped in with nine points.

In the first quarter, Kennedi Simmons gave the Rams an early 5-0 on a three-pointer with 9:07 left. 10-7 Golden Bulls, Amaya Tucker tied the game 10-10 on a three-pointer with 3:12 remaining. Alexandria Warren gave the Rams the lead back on two made free throws, making the score 12-10 with 2:32 left. The Golden Bulls took a 13-12 lead into the second quarter.
In the second quarter, Starasisa Bell-Freeman gave the Rams a 17-15 lead on a three-pointer with 7:23 left. After the Golden Bulls took a 19-17 lead, Tolisha Walker was fouled on a lay-up. Walker connected on two free-throws trying the game 19-19 with 4:49 remaining. With the Golden Bulls up 21-19 Christiana McLean was fouled on a putback lay-up trying the game back up 21-21, McLean put the Rams back in front with the and-one 22-21 with 3:40 left. The Golden Bulls closed out the half on a 6-1 run, taking a 27-23 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, Jakaiya Mack quickly made the score 27-25 on a lay-up with 9:47 left. Down by 36-29, Jakiaya Mack cut the lead down to five points 36-31, on a lay-up with 5:48 left. The Golden Bulls answered back with a 5-0 run making the score 41-31 with 3:34 remaining. The Rams answered back with their own 5-0 run, as Sierra Hunter cut the lead to five points on a lay-up 41-36 with 1:14 remaining. The Golden Bulls took a 48-38 lead into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Chloe Williams cut the Golden Bulls' lead down to eight points 50-42 on a lay-up with 9:01 left. Chloe Williams then cut the lead down to six points 52-46 on a lay-up with 7:41 left. Down by 60-50, Amaya Tucker hit a three-pointer, making the score 60-53 with 2:21 remaining.
