WINSTON-SALEM N.C.- The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team will travel to Raleigh, North Carolina, to take on St. Augustine's on Wednesday, February 7th. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 inside Emery Gymnasium.
The Lady Rams will host Claflin University hosting a senior day on Saturday, February 10th. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. inside the C.E. Gaines Center.

CIAA Preseason:
Amaya Tucker and
Kennedi Simmons were named to the 2022-2023 All-CIAA Women's Basketball Preseason Team Backcourt. Tucker is returning as the reigning CIAA Player of the Year. She finished last season averaging 15.6 points per game and led the Rams in three-point percentage with 40%. Tucker also shot 74% from the free-throw line. Simmons was second on the Rams in scoring, averaging 9.1 points per game. Kennedi shot 72% from the free-throw line.
CIAA Weekly Awards
- Jakaiya Mack was named CIAA Player of the Week for week seven.
- La'Niya Simes was named CIAA Rookie of the Week for weeks 10, 11, 12 and 13.

Taniyah Greene led the Falcons with 14 points, followed by Joscelyne Meyers with 12 points and Lauren Banks chipped in with 10 points. Taniyah is averaging 13.4 points a game, followed by Lauren Banks with 13.2 points per game. The Falcons are scoring 67.5 points a game, while giving up 60.8 points a game.
Claflin University (12-8, 6-6 CIAA)
The Panthers defeated Shaw University 87-77 on Saturday, February 3rd. Lauren Scott led the Panthers with 31 points and eight rebounds, followed by Nya Morris with 23 points and six rebounds, and Leigha Harris with 21 points and five rebounds. Lauren Scott is the Panthers leading scorer averaging 16.5 points a game, followed by Nya Banks with 15.1 points per game. The Panthers are averaging 74.3 points per game.
