WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University softball team dropped two games to Davis & Elkins Wednesday afternoon at Twin City Ballfield.
The Rams moved to 2-11 on the season.
How it Happened – Game 1
Davis & Elkins had a 3-0 lead after scoring a run in the top of the second and two runs in the top of the third. They added two more runs in the top of the fifth and scored one more run in the top of the seventh.
Aniyah Jackson hit her first home run of the season in the bottom of the seventh to put the Rams on the board. Davis & Elkins won 6-1.
BreAnna Steel moved to 1-5 on the season after pitching the entire game. She had four strikeouts.
How it Happened – Game 2
Davis & Elkins started game two scoring five runs in the top of the first inning. They added three more runs in the top of the third inning and one run in the top of the fourth to lead 9-0. The Rams scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth after
TaKara Ware hit a single scoring
Tyeisha Gist and
Alicia Carrington.
Alicia Carrington pitched 0.1 innings and
Jyla Thomas pitched 6.2 innings with six strikeouts.
The Rams will be back in action next weekend, March 21-23 at the CIAA round-up in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
