WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State Volleyball team won their first game of the 2024 regular season defeating Clinton College, 3-1 inside the C.E. Gaines Center Monday night.
The Rams improved to 1-4 (0-0 CIAA) on the season.

In set one, the Rams took their first lead of the game 11-10 on a
Zoe Chesson ace. The Golden Bears answered back with a 5-0 run giving them a 15-11 lead. The Rams were able to chip the Golden Bears' lead down to two 19-17, as the Golden Bears took set one 25-19.
In set two the Golden Bears jumped out to a 8-1 lead. The Rams went on a 5-0 run, making the score 14-10 on an
Alayna Pruitt block. With the Golden Bears up 24-16, the Rams went on an 8-0 run tying the game 24-24 on an
Alayna Pruitt kill.
Kamiyah Wilson clinched the match point with a block 30-28.
In set three the Rams went on a 10-0 run taking control of the set 19-6, as they took set three 25-10. In set four the Golden Bears jumped out to a 5-0 lead. With the score 20-16 Golden Bears the Rams went on a 5-0 run taking the lead 21-20 on a
Zoe Chesson kill. The Rams closed out the set on a 4-1 run taking set four 25-21.
