WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State Volleyball team fell to Shaw University in three sets inside C.E. Gaines Monday night.
The Rams moved to 1-6 (0-2 CIAA) on the season.

How it happened vs. Fayetteville State (25-18, 25-19, 25-22)
In set one, the Bears jumped out to a 5-0 lead. The Rams fought back into the game with a 5-0 run, making the score 14-11, as Shaw called a timeout. The Bears closed out the set on a 6-2 run taking set one, 25-18.
In set two the Rams came out with a quick 2-0 lead. With the score, 3-2 Rams, the Bears went on a 5-0 run, taking a 7-3 lead. The Rams kept the fight and made the score 14-11 on a Shaw attack error. With the score 16-12, the Bears went on a 4-0 run extending their lead to 20-12. The Rams went on a 4-0 run, scoring 22-18, forcing the Bears to call a timeout. The Bears answered back, taking set two 25-19.
In set three the Rams came out on fire with an 8-2 run, as the Bears needed a timeout. With the score of 10-5 Rams, the Bears answered back with a 3-0 run to cut the lead to 10-8 Rams. The Bears went on a 4-0 run to tie the game 14-14. With the score tied at 17-17, the Bears went on another 4-0 run, making the score 21-17. Shaw would take set three 25-22.
