Women’s Basketball Travels to St. Andrews Monday Night

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team gear up to travel to Laurinburg, North Carolina on Monday, January 13th, taking on St. Andrews University. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside the Harris Court Gym.

Series Information vs. St. Andrews University
This will be the first all-time meeting between the Rams and Knights. 

Rams Returners:
The Rams brought back six returners from last year's team: Sophomore La'Niya Simes, juniors Alexandria Warren, Jakaiya Mack, and Chloe Williams, senior Christiana McLean, graduate student Sierra Hunter, and Tolisha Walker

Rams Newcomers:
During the off-season, the Rams welcomed in freshman Alana Biosse, sophomore's Khauri Little, Karina Scott, Zion Duncan. junior Kierran Walker, graduate students Jaleesa Lanier and Maya- Madison Walker.

CIAA Preseason/Polls
Jakaiya Mack was named to the 2024-2025 All-CIAA Women's Basketball Preseason Team Frontcourt. Mack finished last season playing in 15 games and started in 12. She averaged 23 minutes with 8 points per game, 45% FG, and 57% FT. The women were selected to finish tenth. 

Last Time Out 
The Rams lost to Elizabeth City State 58-56 on Saturday, January 4th. Kierren Walker led the Rams with a season-high 22 points, followed by Jakaiya Mack and Alana Biosse with six points. 
 
Scouting Report 
The Rams' leading scorer is Christiana McLean averaging 10.3 points a game, followed by La'Niya Simes with 7.7 points The Rams are averaging 57.7 points a game. 

St. Andrews University (6-10, 3-7 AAC) 
The Knights fell to Johnson (TN) 87-46 on Thursday, January 9th, 2025. Londaisha Smith led the Knights in scoring with 11.8 points, followed by Ashley Starks with 10.8 points. St. Andrews is averaging 59.1 points per game.

The women will travel up to Petersburg, Virginia on Thursday, January 16th, taking on Virginia State University. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. inside the Multipurpose Center.
