Biosse Has Season-High as Rams Fall to Fayetteville Monday Night

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team fell to Fayetteville State University 67-46 inside the C.E. Gaines Center.

The Rams moved to (3-13, 0–7 CIAA, 0-2 South) on the season.

Alana Biosse led the Rams with 14 points, followed by Jakaiya Mack and Tolisha Walker with 10 points each.

The Rams went 14-of-49 from the field, 1-of-16 from three, 17-of-25 from the free-throw line. The Rams grabbed 35 rebounds, and scored 14 points in the paint, 17 points off turnovers, 22 forced turnovers and 30 bench points. 

How It Happened
In the first quarter, the Broncos took a 6-3 lead (4:21). The Broncos extended the lead to 10-3 (2:35). Karina Scott hit a three-pointer, cutting the score to 10-6 with 1:08 remaining in the quarter. The Broncos took a 14-6 lead into the second quarter. 

In the second quarter, the Broncos went on an 8-0 run, extending their lead 22-6 (7:18). The Rams closed out the half on a 10-2 run, making the score 24-16 FSU going into halftime. 

In the third quarter, the Broncos went on a 12-0 run, growing their lead to 36-16 (7:26). The Broncos outscored the Rams 28-14 in the third quarter, taking a 52-30 lead into the fourth quarter. 

In the fourth quarter, the Rams went on a 5-0 run, chipping the FSU lead down 55-35 on a Jakaiya Mack jumper (7:29). An Alana Biosse and-one made the score 58-40 (5:32). The Broncos went on a 6-0 run, pushing their lead to 64-40 (4:29).

The Lady Rams will travel to Raleigh, North Carolina, on Wednesday, January 22nd taking on Shaw University. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. inside the C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium.
