WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team defeated Virginia University of Lynchburg 71-44 inside the C.E. Gaines Center.
The Rams improved moved (5-13, 1–7 CIAA, 1-2 South) on the season
Both Christana McLean and
Karina Scott led the Rams with 13 points each, followed by
Jakaiya Mack with 10 points.

Jakaiya Mack lay-up gave the Rams an 8-5 lead (6:38). The Dragons closed out the quarter on an 8-2 run, taking a 13-12 lead into the second quarter.
In the second quarter, the Rams went on a 6-0 run, taking an 18-13 lead on a
Jakaiya Mack lay-up (7:58). The Rams extended its lead to 28-17 on a
Karina Scott lay-up (2:29). The Rams took a 31-21 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, two Christina McLean free-throws gave the Rams a 42-26 lead (3:58). The Rams took a 48-32 lead into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Rams went on a 7-0 run, extending their lead to 55-32 on two
Christiana McLean free-throws (8:17). The Rams scored 11 more points than the Dragons to close the game 71-44.
