CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University men's basketball team fell to Johnson C. Smith, 64-42 Thursday night inside Brayboy Gymnasium.
The Rams move to (3-15, 0-7 CIAA, 0-4 South) on the season.
Tyre Boykin led the Rams with 11 points followed by
Jeremy Dixon with nine and
Micah Jones with eight.
How It Happened
Micah Jones hit a three pointer to bring the Rams within one, 6-5 with under 16 to play in the first half. JCSU took a four-point lead, 14-10 with 10:00 to play. The Golden Bulls went up 10, 20-10 with 8:10 on the clock. Jones hit another three-pointer to bring the Rams within three, 20-17 (6:40). JSCU went into halftime leading 33-23.
The Golden Bulls increased its lead to 43-27 at the under 16-media timeout (14:45). JCSU went on a 12-2 run to lead the Rams 55-29 with 9:54 to play in the game. The Rams went on an 8-0 run to cut the lead to 55-37 with 6:42 remaining in the game. JCSU took the game 64-42.
