CARY, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University men's and women's cross country team kicked off the month of October competing at the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge in Cary, North Carolina.
The women captured fifth place.

For the women,
Ava Millner finished in 11th place with a time of 19:47.5.
Elicia Bryant finished in 19th with a time of 20:27.0.
Leigh Wills finished in 34
th place with a time of 22:00.1 and
Rainn Sheppard finished in 44
th with a time of 23:14.3.
Simone Kelly (24:19.8) and
Kayla Nobles (24:24.4) finished in 46
th and 47
th place, respectively.
On the men's side, Zachary Patrick finished in 38
th place with a time of 29:37.7 leading the Rams. Following him was K'lijah Jackson-Melton running a time of 30:38.3 to come in 44
th. Henry Weah ran a time of 33:32.8 to finish in 60
th and E'maije Ambrose ran a time of 36:48.4 to come in 67th place.
The Rams will be back in action on October 10 at the Livingstone Invitational in Salisbury, North Carolina.
