WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Two Rams from the Winston-Salem State University volleyball team have earned Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Weekly honors for week ten.
Sophomore Kayln Cuthberson from Mint Hill, North Carolina was named the CIAA Defensvie Player of the Week after having one kill, eight attacks, seven assists, and 30 digs. Cuthbertson's best game came on November 6th against Claflin, she had one kill, five assists,and 13 digs in a 3-0 victory. She also had 17 digs on November 3rd against Livingstone in a 3-0 victory.
Freshman
Celina Johnson from Laurel, Maryland was named the CIAA Rookie of the Week after having six total kills, 24 assists,one ace and 12 digs. Johnson's best game came on November 3rd against Livingstone with 13 assists, and nine digs in a 3-0 victory. She also had a kill, 11 assists and one ace against Claflin, on November 6th in a 3-0 victory.Â
The Rams swept Fayetteville State yesterday evening and look forward to competing in the CIAA championships in Bowie, Maryland on November 21-23.
