Winston-Salem, N.C.– The Winston-Salem State University men's basketball team defeat VIrgina University of Lynchburg 94-77, inside the C.E. Gaines Center.
The Rams improved to (1-2, 0-0 CIAA).
Ethan English led the Rams with 17 points, followed by Khyelle Ingram with 14 points, both Tyre Boykin and Masaun Moore-Byrant chipped in with 13 points.

The Rams went 36-of-68 from the field, 3-of-15 from three, and 19-of-26 from the free-throw line. The Rams grabbed 45 rebounds, 56 points in the paint, 18 fastbreak points and 16 bench points.

In the first half, the Dragons went on a 8-0 run, taking a 8-3 lead on two free-throws (15:38). WSSU went on a 6-2 run, cutting the lead down to 10-9 on an Arrington Kee lay-up (13:23). The Rams went on a 5-0 run, taking a 15-14 on Masaun Moore-Byrant free-throw (11:26). The Rams went on a 6-1 run, taking a 23-20 on a Ethan English lay-up (7:38). A Tyre Boykin jumper made the score 31-25 (4:30). The Rams closed out the half on a 6-2 run, taking a 42-33 lead into halftime.
In the second half, WSSU went on a 12-2 run, extending their lead to 54-35 on a Lance Gill dunk (16:41). A Ethan English dunk pushed the lead to 60-38 (14:46). The Dragons went on 6-0 run, cutting the lead to 73-58 on a lay-up (7:17). A Masaun Moore-Byrant jumper made the score 81-64 (4:21). The Rams lead grew out to 94-75.
