Mount Olive, N.C. –
Tyre Boykin led all scorers as the Winston-Salem State University men's basketball team defeated University of Mount Olive 93-91 Monday night.
The Rams improved to 2-4 (0-0 CIAA) on the season.

Boykin finished with 48 points, while
Isaiah Ray had 15 points and
Abou Camara had 13 points.
Khyelle Ingram led with 8 blocks. The Rams shot 36-of-67 from the field, 9-of-19 from three's and 12-of-20 from the free throw line.
How it Happened:
WSSU got on the board first with a basket by
Tyre Boykin. Points exchanged back and forth, and the game was tied 9-9 with 15:25 to play in the half. An 7-0 run from the Rams gave them a 16-9 lead with 13:11 remaining in the half. Mount Olive tied the game at 19-all before the Rams went on another run extending their lead to 28-19 with 6:12 to play. WSSU found themselves up 10, 36-26 at the under four media timeout and went into halftime leading 42-37 over UMO.
A slow start from the Rams to open the second half led to Mount Olive taking a 47-46 lead with 14:54 on the clock. The Trojans extended their lead to ten, 58-48 at the under 12 media. WSSU came within three points, 67-64 with 8:16 to play in the game. The Rams took their first lead of the second half, 73-70 with 6:34 remaining.
Tyre Boykin gave the Rams a three-point lead 86-83 with 2:22 to play. The game was tied 88-all with 50 seconds to go.
