WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Ah'Kiyah Pye from the Winston-Salem State women's basketball team was named Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women's Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Pye, a redshirt freshman from Highland Springs, Virginia helped the Rams go a perfect 2-0 in last week's contests. She recorded 27 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 7 steals across the two wins. Her breakout performance came in an 89-63 victory at Concord, where she scored 22 points on 8-for-12 shooting while going a perfect 6-for-6 from the line and adding 6 steals. 

She followed with 5 points and 6 rebounds in a narrow win at Barton, contributing key defensive stops and backcourt rebounding late in the game. Pye's efficiency, energy, and two-way production made her one of the week's most impactful newcomers.

Pye and the Rams will be back in action tonight, December 1 taking on Lees-McRae at 5:30 p.m.
