Winston-Salem, N.C– The Winston-Salem State University men's basketball team defeated MACU 90-53 Thursday night inside the C.E. Gaines Center.
The Rams improved to (4-5, 1-1 CIAA).
Tyre Boykin led the Rams with 16 points, followed by Ethan English with 14 and Masaun Bryant with 11.
How It Happened
In the first half, the Rams took a 5-4 lead on a Khyelle Ingram jumper (14:11). WSSU went on an 8-0 run, taking a 13-7 lead on a Lance Gill dunk (13:31). The Rams went on an 11-2 run, extending their lead to 24-12 on a Khyelle Ingram (8;56). The WSSU lead grew to 35-17 on a Masaun Byrant three-pointer (4:49). A Isaiah Ray lay-up made the score 44-22 (1:03). WSSU took a 46-24 lead into halftime.
The Rams outscored the Mustangs 44-29 in the second half to win the game.
