WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University men's basketball team fell to Johnson C. Smith 75-56 inside the C.E. Gaines Center.
The Rams move to (3-20, 0-12 CIAA, 0-7 South).
WSSU was led by
Micah Jones with 15 points, followed by Wesley Tubbs with 11 and
Lance Gill with nine.
JCSU led by five, 10-5 with 14:40 to play in the first half. JCSU increased their lead to 13, with 11:40 to play.
Micah Jones hit a three-pointer to make the game 25-14 (JCSU) with 7:06 on the clock. The Golden Bulls went into halftime leading 38-19.
Lance Gill hit a three-pointer to start the second half as the Rams trailed 38-22. Back-to-back baskets from the Rams forced a JCSU timeout as the Rams trailed 47-27 (14:58). Gill hit another three with 14:06 left in the game (50-30). JCSU hit back-to-back threes to increase its lead 64-37.
Micah Jones hit a three to make the score 66-46 with 6:31 left in the game. JCSU led the rest of the game and won 75-56.
