BANNER ELK – The Winston-Salem State University women's tennis team fell to Lees-McRae Sunday evening.
The team moves to 0-2 on the season.
In doubles, the pair of
Semmie Moore and
Iyana Nickens earned a point but fell 6-1. The other pairs dropped both sets with a score of 6-0.
In singles,
Semmie Moore fought hard against her opponent but unfortunately fell, 6-4 and 6-1.
Brooke Higgins fell 6-0 as well as
Kyla Burns.
Iyana Nickens lost her first set 6-0 but kept it interesting in set two falling 6-2. Both
Briana Drew and
Dezirae Black-Macon's matches went unfinished.
Tennis will be back in action on Saturday, February 22 at Belmont Abbey for a 10:00 am match.
