Women’s Basketball Conclude Regular Season Hosting Livingstone Saturday For Senior Day

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team will wrap up the regular season, on Saturday, February 22nd hosting Livingstone College. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. inside the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Series Information vs. Livingstone College
Since 2006 this will be the 27th match-up between the Rams and Blue Bears. The Bears currently lead the series 18-12. This will be the second match-up this season. Last time, the Bears defeated the Rams 91-83 in double-overtime on February 1st, 2025. 

Rams Returners:
The Rams brought back six returners from last year's team. Sophomores La'Niya Simes, juniors Alexandria Warren, Jakaiya Mack, Chloe Williams, senior Christiana McLean, and graduate students Sierra Hunter and Tolisha Walker

Rams Newcomers:
During the off-season, the Rams welcomed in freshman Alana Biosse, sophomores  Khauri Little, Karina Scott, and Zion Duncan, juniors Kierran Walker, and Jahmaria Miles, and graduate students Jaleesa Lanier and Maya- Madison Walker.

CIAA Preseason/Polls
Jakaiya Mack was named to the 2024-2025 All-CIAA Women's Basketball Preseason Team Frontcourt. Mack finished last season playing in 15 games and started in 12. She averaged 23 minutes with 8 points per game, was 45% FG, and 57% FT. The women were selected to finish tenth. 

Last Time Out 
The Rams fell to Fayetteville State University 81-31 on Thursday, February 13th Tolisha Walker led the Rams with eight points, followed by Chloe Williams with five points. . 

Scouting Report 
The Rams leading scorer is Christiana McLean averaging 11.7 points a game, followed by La'Niya Simes with 7.9 points The Rams are averaging 58.3 points a game. 

Livingstone College  (10-15, 8-7 CIAA, 6-3 South) 
The Blue Bears fell to Johnson C. Smith  71-58 on Tuesday, February 18th. The Blue Bears  are led in scoring by Morgan Kelson with 14.8 points followed by Thalia Carter with 11.8 points, Bria Griffth 10.3 points . LC is averaging 69.6 points per game.

The women will participate in the CIAA Tournament from Monday, February 24th through Saturday, March 1st In Baltimore Maryland.
