WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team dropped the regular season finale to Livingstone College 66-55, inside the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
The Rams finished (7-19, 3-13 CIAA, 2-7 South) in the regular season.
Christiana McLean led the Rams with 13 points, followed by
La'Niya Simes and
Jakaiya Mack with 10 points each.
How It Happened
In the first quarter, the Rams went on a 6-0 run taking a 6-3 lead on a
Jakaiya Mack lay-up (4:53).
Christiana McLean extended the Rams lead to 12-7 (2:41), on a lay-up. The Rams took a 17-12 lead into the second quarter.
In the second quarter, LC went on a 6-0 run, taking an 18-17 lead (3:43). The Blue Bears outscored the Rams 16-2 in the second quarter, taking a 28-19 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, the Rams went on a 6-2 run, cutting the score to 33-28 on two
Christiana McLean free-throws (4:59). LC closed out the quarter on a 16-4 run, taking a 49-32 lead into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter,
Jakaiya Mack cut the lead to 49-36 on a lay-up (8:33).
Jakaiya Mack cut the score to 59-52 on a lay-up, with 1:35 left in the game. LC closed out the game on a 7-3 run.
