Women's Basketball to Play Bowie State in the Opening Round of the CIAA Tournament Tuesday  
 
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Winston-Salem State University women's basketball team will play Bowie State University in the opening round of the CIAA Tournament, as the 6th seed in the south on Tuesday, February 25th. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. inside the CFG Bank Arena.

Series Information vs. Bowie State 
Since 2005, the Bulldogs lead the series 12-7. This will be the second match-up this season. Last time, the Bulldogs defeated the Rams 73-52 on December 17th, 2024. 
 
Rams Returners:
The Rams brought back six returners from last year's team. Sophomore La'Niya Simes, juniors Alexandria Warren, Jakaiya Mack, Chloe Williams, senior Christiana McLean, graduate students Sierra Hunter and Tolisha Walker
 
Rams Newcomers:
During the off-season, the Rams welcomed in freshman Alana Biosse, sophomore's Khauri Little, Karina Scott, Zion Duncan, juniors Kierran Walker, Jahmaria Miles, graduate students Jaleesa Lanier and Maya- Madison Walker.
 
CIAA Preseason/Polls
Jakaiya Mack was named to the 2024-2025 All-CIAA Women's Basketball Preseason Team Frontcourt. Mack finished last season playing in 15 games and started in 12. She averaged 23 minutes with 8 points per game, was 45% FG, and 57% FT. The women were selected to finish tenth. 
 
Last Time Out 
The Rams fell to Livingstone College 66-55 on Saturday, February 22nd. Christiana McLean led the Rams with 13 points, followed by La'Niya Simes and Jakaiya Mack with 10 points each. 
 
Scouting Report 
The Rams' leading scorer is Christiana McLean averaging 12.0 points a game, followed by La'Niya Simes with 8.2 points. The Rams are averaging 58.2 points a game. 
 
Bowie State University (17-9, 11-5 CIAA, 6-4 North) 
The Bulldogs fell to Lincoln University (Pa.) 52-51 on Saturday, February 22nd. The Bulldogs are led in scoring by Destiny Ryles with 18.0 points followed by Mia Smith with 11.7 points. Bowie State is averaging 64.8 points per game.
