WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.– The Winston-Salem State University men's basketball team come up short to Bowie State University 71-70, inside the C.E. Gaines Center.
The Rams move to (3-17, 0-9 CIAA, 0-5 South) on the season.
Micah Jones led the Rams with 18 points, followed by
Tyre Boykin with 15 points and
Wesley Tubbs III with 10 points.
Abou Camara had a season-high 20 rebounds.

In the first half, the Bulldogs began the game on a 9-0 run taking a 9-0 lead (16:54). A
Tyre Boykin three-pointer made the score 11-5 (16:10). The Rams went on an 11-2 run, giving them an 18-17 lead, on an
Abou Camara jumper (9:34). The Rams went on an 8-0 run, extending their lead to 30-20 on a
Wesley Tubbs III three-pointer(4:29). The Bulldogs answered back with a 9-1 run, cutting the score to 31-29 with 1:37 remaining in the half. The Rams answered right back with a 7-2 run, taking a 38-31 lead on a
Masaun Moore-Bryant lay-up with 26 seconds left. The Rams took a 38-33 lead into halftime.
In the second half, two
Lance Gill free-throws gave the Rams a 43-37 (17:27). The Bulldogs went on an 8-0 run, putting BSU back ahead 51-49 (13:18). BSU extended their lead to 59-54 (7:26).
Wesley Tubbs III lay-up cut the score to 61-58 (6:13). J'Vonni Roblejo went on his own 6-0 run, giving the Rams a 64-61 lead (4:42). A
Tyre Boykin lay-up gave the Rams a 69-64 with 1:48 left.
Abou Camara made 1-of-2 free-throws making the score 70-68 with 13 seconds left. The Bulldogs hit the go-ahead three-pointer 71-70 with 7 seconds left. Masaun Moore-Byrant missed the game-winning lay-up as time expired.
