WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University flag football team is set to participate in the league's first-ever women's flag football championship in Charlotte, North Carolina on April 11-12 on the campus of Johnson C. Smith.

During the second round-up on the campus of Virginia Union University, the Rams went 2-1 defeating Bowie State, 19-0, and Bluefield, 21-0 before falling to Claflin, 13-6 on day two.
In the first-ever round-up hosted by WSSU, the Rams went 3-1 with victories over Livingstone College (12-0), Johnson C. Smith (7-0), and Fayetteville State (7-0) and fell to Virginia Union 20-0.
With all contests being played WSSU goes into championship weekend as the #2 seed and will take on Bowie State during the quarterfinals on April 11 at 1:00 p.m. The winner of game two will play the winner of game 3 during the semifinals on April 12 at 1:00 p.m. and the championship game will be the winners of the semifinals at 3:00 p.m.
Games will be streamed on the CIAA Sports network.
