WSSU Cross Country Announces 2025 Schedule

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Winston-Salem State University Cross Country is set for an exciting 2025 campaign, featuring a strong mix of in-state meets and prestigious regional and national competitions. The Rams will hit the ground running this fall as they prepare to compete for top honors in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) and beyond.

The season opens on Saturday, September 6 with the Wilmington Beach Run, hosted by UNC Wilmington along the scenic North Carolina coast. A quick turnaround brings the Rams to Misenheimer, NC on September 12 for the Pfeiffer XC Invitational.

On September 19, WSSU will compete in the Blue Bear Invitational, hosted by CIAA rival Livingstone College in Salisbury. The month wraps up with a major regional competition: the 41st Annual Greensboro Invitational on Saturday, September 27, hosted by the Greensboro Pacesetters.

The Rams then travel to Cary, N.C. for one of the season's marquee HBCU events, the Cedric Walker HBCU Challenge, hosted by the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation (NSAF) on October 3.

WSSU returns to Salisbury on October 10 for the Livingstone Invitational, their final tune-up before championship season.

The CIAA Cross Country Championship will be held on Thursday, October 23 in Salem, Virginia, where the Rams will aim to bring home conference glory.
Postseason competition begins at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championship in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, on November 8, hosted by Lock Haven University. The top finishers will advance to the NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championship, scheduled for November 22 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
