Rams Dominate win over Lincoln University (PA)

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State University football team dominated Lincoln University (PA) 51-14 inside Bowman Gray Saturday evening.

The Rams moved to 2-1 on the season.

Inside the Numbers
  • It's been seven years since the Rams have scored over 50 points on someone. The last opponent was Fayetteville in 2018.
  • The Rams piled up 499 total yards.
  • Daylin Lee went 15-for17 with 251 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.
  • JaQuan Kelly led with 108 rushing yards.
  • Defensively, Evan Powell led the way with 12 tackles, 5 solo, 7 assists, 1.0 tackle for loss.
  • Chancellor Smith had one interception for five yards and Jaylyn Norris had one force fumble for 24 yards.
How it Happened
  • The Rams got on board first after a pass from Lee to Davontay Deloatch for 83-yards giving the Rams a 7-0 lead.
  • The Lions answered back to tie the game 7-7.
  • In the second quarter, Lee threw for back-to-back passes to Kaleb Washington for a 8-yard pass and 30-yard to give the Rams a 21-7 lead going into halftime.
  • In the third quarter, Lee tucked one in on the ground for a 1-yard touchdown. The Lions scored again and the Rams got a safety to make the lead 30-14.
  • Touchdowns from Jayden Grimes, Timothy Ruff II and a huge 57-yard run from Noah Marshall sealed the deal.
The Rams will be back home on September 20 hosting Virginia State at 1 p.m. inside Bowman Gray Stadium.
