Rams Defeat Bowie State Saturday Afternoon

BOWIE, MD. – The Winston-Salem State University football team defeated Bowie State 28-21 on Saturday afternoon inside Bulldog Stadium.
 
The Rams improve to 3-2 overall 1-1 CIAA.
 
Inside the Numbers
  • WSSU had 248 yards of total offense.
  • Daylin Lee was 18-for-29 or 190 yards and four touchdowns.
  • Devontay Deloatch had 12 receptions for 88 yards and three touchdowns.
  • Jamieson Alston had 13 tackles, 9 solo and Evan Powell had seven tackles.
 
How it Happened
  • Daylin Lee threw a 19-yard pass to Devontay Deloatch to give the Rams an early 7-0 lead with the extra point and 10:30 to play in the first quarter.
  • The Rams defense forced another fumble which turned into a 21-yard pass from Lee to Deloatch to give the Rams a 14-0 lead with 10:11 to play in the first quarter.
  • Sean Walker had a 64-yard return to set the Rams offensive up and Daylin Lee threw a 10-yard pass to Deloatch to put the Rams up 21-9 with 48 seconds to play in the first half.
  • BSU kicked a field goal to end the half as the Rams lead 21-12.
  • Daylin Lee threw a 49-yard pass to Kaleb Washington to give the Rams a 28-12 lead with 13:14 remaining in the game.
  • BSU cut into the Rams lead with 10:09 to play in the fourth quarter, trail 28-18.
  • The Rams sealed the deal and won the game 28-21.
