MARS HILL – The Winston-Salem State University football team edged out Mars Hill 28-25 inside Mearse Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Rams improved to 1-1 on the season.

- Daylin Lee threw a 31-yard pass to Kaleb Washington to give the Rams an early lead, with the extra point. (7-0) with 9:44 to play in the first quarter.
- Mars Hill got on board with a field goal to trail the Rams 7-3 with 5:24 to play in the first quarter.
- Mars Hill took a 10-7 lead over the Rams with 3:05 to play in the first quarter.
- Jamieson Alston had a huge interception for the Rams which led to a 1-yard run from JaQuan Kelly to give the Rams a 14-10 lead with 13:19 to play in the third quarter.
