Rams Comeback Falls Short in Regular Season Finale at Livingstone

Salisbury, N.C– The Winston-Salem State University men's basketball team fell to Livingstone College 79-76 inside the New Trent Gymnasium.

 The Rams moved to (7-18, 2-14 CIAA, 0-10 South).

Masaun Bryant led the Rams with 19 points and eight rebounds, followed by Lance Gill with 15 points, Khyelle Ingram had a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The Rams went 27-of-63  from the field, 6-of-23 from three, and 16-of-18 from the free-throw line. The Rams grabbed 36 rebounds and 28 points in the paint

How It Happened 
In the first half, the Blue Bears took an early 12-3 lead on a three-pointer (16:19). A Masaun Byrant jumper cut the lead 14-7 (15:10). Lance Gill hit a three-pointer trimmed the score to 24-20 (10:10). LC extended their lead to 33-24 on a jumper (7:17). LC closed out the half on a 15-8 run, taking a 48-32 lead into halftime. 

In the second half, the Rams went on a 10-3 run, cutting the score to 51-42 on Bryson Cowan dunk (16:19). Arrington Kee hit a three-pointer chipping the lead to 54-47 (14:42).  The Blue Bears extended their lead to 62-51 on two free-throws (10:29). Khyelle Ingram cut the lead to 68-61 on a lay-up (5:29). WSSU went on a 5-0 run, trimming the lead to 75-70 on a Lance Gill dunk (2:46). A Demetri Patterson three-pointer cut the lead to 77-76 with 24 seconds remaining. LC  hit two free-throws and gave the Blue Bears a 79-76 lead with 7 seconds left. Lance Gill missed the game-tying three-pointer as time expired.

The Rams will travel to Baltimore, Maryland, participating in the CiAA Tournament starting on February 24.
