Men’s Basketball Drops Contest to Fayetteville State Saturday Night

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Winston-Salem State University men's basketball fell to Fayetteville State University 84-74 inside the C.E. Gaines Center Saturday night.
 
The Rams moved to 7-13 (2-9 CIAA, 0-4 South).

Abou Camara led with 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Ethan English finished with 16 and Lance Gill chipped in 12.
The Rams shot 25-of-64 from the field and was 21-of-23 from the free throw line.
 
How it Happened
Back-and-forth scoring happened in the early minutes as FSU led 13-8 with 16:11 to play. We was tied 20-20 with 11:03 to play in the first half. FSU took a five-point lead, 25-20 with 9:33 to play. FSU led 36-33 with 5:13 to play in the half. The Rams came within one, 36-35 at the under four media timeout. Fayetteville took a ten-point lead into halftime, 51-41.
 
The Rams trailed 56-51 with 16:06 remaining in the game. The Broncos took a nine-point lead 60-51 with 15:07 left in the game. At the under 12-minute mark, FSU led by 13 (71-58). The Rams came within 10, 72-62 with 8:53 to play. WSSU couldn't stop the Broncos momentum and FSU sealed the game winning by 10.
 
WSSU will be back in action on Tuesday, Feb. 10 hosting Livingstone College at 7:30 p.m. inside the C.E. Gaines Center.
