WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Winston-Salem State University Volleyball has officially announced its 2026 schedule, featuring preseason action, early-season tournament play, CIAA matchups, Round-Up competition, and the CIAA Championship Tournament.

The Rams open the year on Saturday, August 22, with a 10 a.m. preseason tournament and scrimmage before beginning regular-season competition the following weekend. 
WSSU will begin the regular season on Friday, August 28, at the Catawba College Tournament in Salisbury, North Carolina. The Rams are scheduled to face Erskine at 4:30 p.m. and Belmont Abbey at 6:30 p.m. before closing the tournament against Davis & Elkins on Saturday, August 29, at 3:30 p.m. 

The Rams will continue tournament play at the King University Tournament in Bristol, Tennessee, from September 3-4. WSSU will take on King University and Newberry College on Thursday, September 3, before facing Saint Anselm and Emory & Henry on Friday, September 4. 

WSSU will return to Winston-Salem for its home opener and CIAA conference opener on Monday, September 21, hosting Fayetteville State University at 6 p.m. The Rams will remain home on Thursday, September 24, for another conference match up against Bluefield State University before traveling to Charlotte to face Johnson C. Smith on Monday, September 28. 
CIAA Round-Up #1 will take place in Winston-Salem from October 2-4, with the Rams scheduled to face Elizabeth City State, Shaw, Lincoln, Virginia State, Bowie State, and Virginia Union. WSSU will then host Livingstone on October 8 before traveling to Bluefield State on October 12. 

CIAA Round-Up #2 is set for October 16-18 in Petersburg, Virginia. Following Round-Up play, the Rams will close the regular season with conference match ups against Claflin, Johnson C. Smith, Livingstone, Claflin, and Fayetteville State. 

The Rams will then turn their attention to postseason play at the CIAA Championship Tournament in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. The quarterfinals are scheduled for Monday, November 9, followed by the semifinals on Tuesday, November 10, and the championship match on Wednesday, November 11. 

WSSU enters the 2026 season looking to build on the momentum of last year's success after being named 2025 CIAA Co-Southern Division Champions and earning the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award.
