WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Winston-Salem State University men's and women's cross-country teams will host the Rams Atlantic Region Preview, on Friday, Sept. 25, at the Ivey M. Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville, N.C.

The preview is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. and will feature teams from across multiple divisions, giving the Rams an opportunity to compete against a variety of programs as they continue the 2026 season.
The Division II field includes Fayetteville State, East Stroudsburg, Concord, Point Park, Glenville State, Charleston (W.Va.), Shaw, Livingstone and Seton Hill. Salem College is listed as the lone Division III team on the committed teams list.
Rams Competing
Winston-Salem State will be represented by six women and five men at the preview. The women's field includes seniors
Rainn Sheppard,
Ann Badawi and
Elicia Bryant, along with
La Tanya Johnson, Ava Milner and
Kayla Nobles. The men's team will feature
Khalil Battle,
Jordan Gardner,
Zion Green,
Kaden Hines and
Jyyheir Morrison.
The Last Time Out
The Rams opened the 2026 season with a strong showing, as the women's team captured first place in the 3,000-meter race with 30 points, finishing ahead of North Carolina A&T's 37 points. Sheppard led the way with her runner-up finish, while Badawi, Bryant and Milner all finished inside the top six.
WSSU's men's team placed fifth in the 5,000-meter race with 121 points. Green led the Rams in his first collegiate race, with Hines, Morrison, Battle and Gardner following behind.
The Rams will look to build on that opening performance when they return to the course Friday morning in Kernersville.
Up Next
The Rams will return to action Friday, Oct. 2, when Winston-Salem State competes in the HBCU Cross Country Challenge, hosted by Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
