Coach Alphonza Kee joined the Rams in the summer of August 2024 as the men's assistant basketball coach.
Coach Kee was recently the head varsity coach at Cape Fear High School and was named the 2022 United 8 Conference Coach of the Year. Before working at Cape Fear, Kee had a brief stint at Florida A&M University as the assistant men’s basketball coach.
Coach Kee was also the head coach at CIAA foe Fayetteville State University from 2009-2016 and was named the CIAA Coach of the Year during the 2013-2014 season. He was the recruiting coach at Grambling State (2008-09) and the assistant coach/ recruiting coordinator at North Carolina A&T State University from 2003-2008.
He also has worked at Western Carolina University (2002-2003) and Winston-Salem State University (2001-2002).

Coach Kee received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Fayetteville State University and his Master of Science Degree in Adult Education from North Carolina A&T State University.
