2011-12: Stephon had another great season for the Rams as he continued to develop…He showed up in some of the team’s top games of the season…He played in 29 games with six starts…He finished the season averaging 5.7 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game…His best game of the season came on the biggest stage when he recorded his first career double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds against Elizabeth City State in the 2012 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Tournament Championship game…
2010-11: Stephon had a solid sophomore season with the Rams as he continued to develop as one of the team’s top post players…Played in 27 games with five starts for the Rams…He finished the season averaging 5.7 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game…His best game of the season came in front of his hometown crowd of Fayetteville, North Carolina when he scored 14 points with a season-high eight rebounds…He also pulled in seven rebounds at Lincoln (Pa). …He scored 12 points at Bowie State as well…He recorded a career-high four blocks in a win over the Pfeiffer Falcons.
2009-10: Stephon had a strong first season of play with the Rams as he gave the team some quality play behind starting center Paul Davis…He was a member of the Rams’ vaunted second unit, affectionately known as “The Dogs”…Played in 28 games with no starts…Was a quality reserve for the Rams in the frontcourt…He averaged 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds per game…He also added 13 blocks as well…His best effort came against Washington Adventist when he scored a season-high 10 points and six rebounds in the game…He added four rebounds each in games against Bethune-Cookman, at Norfolk State, and against Florida A&M.
2008-09: Sat out the season as a redshirt.
Personal: Joins the Rams for his first season of competition in 2008-09…A native of Laurinburg, N.C., Platt is a 2009 graduate of Scotland High School where he was an All-Conference and All-Region selection…Named Scotland High School’s team MVP for three consecutive seasons in high school…Was a McDonald’s All-America nominee his senior season…The son of Miyoshi Umeki Platt…A mass communications major at WSSU…Born in Laurinburg, N.C. on Dec. 1, 1989.
