Final Stats
PETERSBURG, VA - The Winston-Salem State University Lady Rams fell in defeat 3-0 to the Bowie State University Lady Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon in the CIAA Softball Championship semifinals from the campus of Virginia State University in Petersburg, VA.
The Lady Rams, who needed to defeat BSU to meet North Carolina Central University in the Championship game, never got on the board as BSU pitcher Jillian Wiley pitched a complete-game five-hitter en route to the 3-0 win.
Georgette Twitty led the Lady Rams with two hits as she was the only WSSU roster player to record a multi-hit game in the loss.
Amber Shore pitched a complete game six hitter, allowing three earned runs as she was saddled with the loss.
The loss drops WSSU to 22-20 on the season (17-5 CIAA) while Bowie State University improves to 26-11 overall.
