Post Game Notes

 

·         The Rams' win evens the all-time series at 1-1 overall and marks the first WSSU victory over the Rattlers (the teams have met only twice)

 

·         The win earns the Rams the distinction of winning the last Circle City Classic that is played in the RCA Dome.  The Classic moves to Lucas Oil Stadium in 2008.

 

·         The win evens WSSU head coach Kermit Blount's all-time record against the Rattlers and head coach Rubin Carter to 1-1 overall.

 

·         With 126 net rushing yards, Jed Bines turns in his 18th 100-yard rushing performance in his WSSU football career.  It is his third 100-yard rushing game this season.

 

·         The Rams scored first against FAMU this evening.  WSSU is a perfect 3-0 in 2007 when they score the first points of a ball game.

 

·         WSSU fumbled five times in the contest marking the most fumbles WSSU has committed in a contest this season. 

 

·         WSSU earns their third win of the season and heads into an open week at .500 with a 3-3 record.

 

·         The win marks Blount's 84th win as WSSU's head coach and moves his five wins behind Bill Hayes, WSSU's coaching wins lead who has 89 wins.

 

·         The win marks the Rams' eighth win as a Division I-FCS program.

 

·         The Rams improve to 337-248-21 overall in 65 years of varsity football.

 

·         WSSU's Jed Bines, the Offensive MVP moves to 3,194 yards rushing overall in his career on 409 carries.

 

·         WSSU head coach Kermit Blount moves to 84-67-3 overall in his head coaching career at WSSU.

 

·         The Rams are off next weekend and will not return to action until October 20, 2007 in Daytona Beach, FL as they battle Bethune-Cookman College.
