CHARLOTTE, NC - The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (21-11, 15-1 CIAA) definitely packed their offense as the team took a doubleheader sweep at Johnson C. Smith (8-25, 7-10 CIAA), Sunday afternoon. The Lady Rams opened the day with a 14-3 win in game one of the doubleheader and closed out the effort with a 13-1 win in game two.
The Lady Rams had a great day on both sides of the ball with 27 runs in the two games while holding their opponents to just four runs. Sophomore infielder Nikki Lynch led the way for the Lady Rams with seven hits in the two games with three doubles and six RBI. Senior catcher Kayla Woodbury added four hits with a home run, a triple, and a double. She hit for the cycle in the two games.
The team also benefitted from a pair of fantastic pitching performances with sophomore Tiffany Burgess () leading the way with just one hit allowed in five innings and four strikeouts. Fellow sophomore pitcher Brittany Lane () added a win with eight strikeouts.
